——-Suspected thieves have broken into Bethel Baptists Church in Luwingu district of Northern Province and stolen 16 garden chairs and cloth materials worth thousands of Kwacha.

Bethel Baptists Church Pastor, Emmanuel Gondwe, told Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Luwingu that unknown people stole the garden chairs used by the congregants in the church.

Pastor Gondwe said the Church will appreciate if the stolen church materials would be brought back in good faith as soon as possible.

He said the incident happened last Friday forcing congregants to come with their own chairs on Sunday because the church has no enough chairs to sit on.

The Pastor said the women who went to sweep the church and its surroundings discovered that a window was broken where the thieves entered through to steal the garden chairs and other materials.

Pastor Gondwe said the matter has already been reported to the Zambia Police in Luwingu district but no arrest has been made so far.

Three weeks ago, thieves broke into the magistrates court and stole curtains and extension cables worth K250.00
