Slow construction works worry govt
Nsama, October 17, 2014—ZANIS—A senior government official in the Northern province has expressed concern at the slow pace of construction works at Nsama boarding secondary school.
ZANIS reports that Northern province Education Officer Nerol Mwanapabu is not happy with the slow pace at which the works are being undertaken.
Speaking when he visited the construction site, Mr. Mwanapabu said it was sad to find that the project is taking too long to be completed.
He noted that it was saddening that the construction works at the school were delayed.
Mr. Mwanapabu has since urged the Chinese contractor – Hua Chiang – to speed up the construction of the school.
Meanwhile, Hua Chiang site engineer Tim Liang said his company was facing some challenges which included inadequate water supply at the construction site.
Mr. Liang said there was need for a drilling company to put up bore holes at the site.
He said his company will expedite the works once all the materials and machinery were brought to the site.
