MINISTER of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education John Phiri has ordered the University of Zambia (UNZA) Council and management to firmly deal with perpetrators of anarchy at the institution.
He said UNZA must be taken back to its golden years when it provided a predictable and conducive learning environment and not an atmosphere of anarchy.
“I appeal to the students to cultivate a spirit of dialogue. This issue of who must own the Commonwealth Youth Centre and first-year students’ bursaries must be left to competent authorities to resolve. I also appeal to the university council and management not to tempt Government to resolve the issues on their behalf. Take steps to protect UNZA from outside interference,” he said.
