—–A Civic leader in Kalulushi has appealed to residents intending to acquire land to use legal channels to avoid problems in the future.
Lubuto Ward Councilor Geoffrey Kanda told ZANIS in an interview in Kalulushi today that getting land through agents was not only risk but also retarded progress in terms of service provision.
He said cases involving illegal land allocation in his ward were very common in North Kalengwa.
Councilor Kanda warned all those that were involved in illegal allocation of land to stop as the punishment was stiff.
He, however, appealed to the local authority personnel carrying out street lighting works to speed up the process and possibly finish before this month end so that people should celebrate the Jubilee year in lights.
He warned the residents where street lights have already been installed to guard against vandalism as the project was being done at great cost to council revenue.
