Patriotic Front (PF) National Chairperson Inonge Wina says the ruling party has not yet decided the fate of its convicted Mufumbwe Member of Parliament Steven Masumba.

Mr. Masumba, who has lodged an appeal against his conviction which was upheld by the High Court has not been able to represent the people of Mufumbwe in Parliament as a result of his conviction for erroneously obtaining an accounting diploma which he used to get a job at Lusaka Business College.
Ms. Wina has told Qfm news in an interview that besides it being a personal issue for Mr. Masumba to decide whether to relinquish his seat following his conviction; it is also premature for the ruling party to make its position on the MP’s predicament.

She says the PF Central Committee has not yet sat to discuss Mr. Masumba’s fate, but will do so at an appropriate time.

Ms. Wina who is also Gender and Child Development Minister says she cannot therefore make a comprehensive statement on Mr. Masumba’s issue.
