Govt. commended for spearheading development in Chiawa district
Lusaka,September 28 , 2014, ZANIS——Chiawa Ward Councilor in Kafue district Soda Nyasanga has commended government for spearheading development in the area.
Mr. Nyasanga says the completion of Chiawa bridge across the Kafue river and tarring of the Chirundu-Chiawa road will help to boost development in the area.
He said that people in Chiawa greatly appreciate government’s efforts of bringing development in the area through the completion of the bridge and the tarring of the Chirundu-Chiawa road that connects to Lusaka through Bauleni township.
Mr. Nyasanga stated that having a good road network is cornerstone to the development of the country.
He said people in Chiawa and other surrounding areas suffered before the bridge was constructed as they could not cross over the Kafue river after 18:hours when the pontoon stops operating.
Mr. Nyasanga also revealed that a contractor to construct the Chirundu-Chiawa road was already on the site adding that once the tarring of the road is completed it will attract investors in the area.
He also commended government for the ambulance which was sent to the Chiawa health centre saying it will go a long way in helping to ferry patients from the health facility to Mtendere Mission Hospital in Chirundu.
“We had challenges of transporting patients who were referred to the Mtendere hospital due to lack of an ambulance and the coming of this vehicle will greatly help us,” he said.
