Government has commissioned Najuncha area of Nalolo district in the Western province to the national grid.
Ministry of Mines and Water Development Deputy Minister Charles Zulu commissioned the 11 KV over head line in Nalolo district worth K8.4 million today
Mr Zulu said the project is expected to stir economic development in the area through entreprenuership and improve the levels of income in rural areas.
The Deputy Minister was speaking when he commissioned the project at a ceremony held at Lubosi primary school in Nalolo district.
At the same occasion Nalolo Member of Parliamnet Inonge Wina said the project was a milestone in the development process of the district.
Mrs Wina who is also Minister of Gender added that the project was an asset that will improve the quality of life of the people in rural areas.
And Rural Electrification Authority Board Chairperson Jorry Mwenechanya said the project will benefit 2,200 pupils and 7500 people in the rural health center catchment areas.
He named some of the schools to benefit from the project as Sianda, Likuma, Litoya Najuncha and Lubosi basic schools.
Some of the rural health centers to benefit from the project include Litoya and Najuncha.
