– Namwala District Commissioner Gevar Nsanzya is happy that the implementation of the Community Lead Total Sanitation (CLTS) Program in the area has gained momentum.
The CLTS is being implemented by Ministry of Local Government and Housing in conjunction with the United Nations Children’s’ Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
Mr Nsanzya was speaking at a quarterly review meeting for community champions, environmental health technicians, and other stakeholders of Namwala district.
And speaking at the same function Namwala District Council Secretary Mabvuto Masiye said the district was now working on a few wards and villages before all the remaining three chiefdoms are certified Open Defecation Free (ODF) .
He said that the goal of the DWASHE committee was to make the district an ODF area.
