Compensation seeking developers warned
Shiwang`andu, September 23, 2014,ZANIS…Shiwang’andu Council Secretary Maybin Mulenga has urged developers not to illegally put up structures on state land with intent to be compensated.
Mr. Mulenga said Government will not compensate all those who will encroach on the state land adding that developers who will illegally put up structures within the planned area will be doing that at their own risk.
Mr. Mulenga sounded the warning in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Shiwang`andu today.
Mr. Mulenga however, appealed to stakeholders to ensure that they acquire land from local government as it has a lot of advantages.
Meanwhile, stakeholders in the district have complained over the prices for residential plots.
Speaking on behalf of stakeholders Mutale Bwalya said that prices for residential plots were too high for the locals to afford.
Mr. Bwalya has called on the local authority in the district to help the local people by reducing prices for residential plots.
High cost 30mx50m residential plots are pegged at K6000, medium cost measuring 25mx30m at K4000 and low cost plots measuring 15mx30m are being sold for K2,500.
