A 32 year old man of Luwingu’s Mapanda village died suddenly at Luwingu District Police Station on Wednesday.
Joseph Mwewa collapsed and died around 13:30 Hours shortly after arriving at the Police Station where he was taken by Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) officers following a suspected case of arson.
Northern Province Deputy Police Commissioner Alfred Nawa confirmed Mwewa’s death to Mano News today but was quick to say police suspect he might have been beaten before being taken to police.
And in Mbala, a 26 year old man drowned to his death after he went swimming in the Kalambo River on Wednesday.
Commissioner Nawa said Philip Sichula’s body was only retrieved from the river yesterday.
