THE United States Senate has confirmed the nomination of Eric Schultz as new Ambassador to Zambia.
According to a statement released by the US Embassy in Zambia yesterday, the confirmation of his nomination was done on Wednesday.
The statement said Mr Schultz was expected to arrive in Zambia in the next few weeks.
“Ambassador designate Schultz is a longtime diplomat and career member of the US senior foreign service, who most recently served as deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine,” the statement said.
It said Mr Schulz had also held positions at the US missions to Russia, Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Georgia, and at the US Department of State in Washington, D.C.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in Minnesota and a master’s degree from the University of Denver.
Mr Schultz is married and has two children.
