The Zambia boys and girls hand ball teams have qualified to the semi-finals of the International Handball Federation (IHF) zone six under 20 games currently taking place in Lusaka.
Zambia boy’s handball team yesterday beat South Africa 22 goals to 15 while the girl’s handball team beat Botswana 42 goals to three.
Handball Association of Zambia (HAZ) spokesperson Josab Changa in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka said eight teams have qualified to the semi-finals.
He said the Zambian, Mozambique, Zimbabwean and South African teams have qualified to the semi-finals of the IHF tournament.
Changa said both the Zambian handball teams are tomorrow expected to face the Zimbabwean handball teams at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC).
He stated the South African teams will also face Mozambique teams tomorrow for the qualifiers to the finals.
Changa has expressed confidence that Zambia will take the zone six IHF trophy.
