Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) President, Lucy Masiye, has urged youths to make a difference and put away alien cultures of violence during the forthcoming independence celebrations.
Ms Masiye said if youths want to become good future leaders they should not engage themselves in violence because no one will vote for them even in election.
She said this in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today.
Ms Masiye has discouraged youths to follow mediocre type of education that media portray, adding that it only brings about moral degeneration.
She has urged youths to set their minds on education for a better future and make a difference by emulating the elders in order to preserve Zambian culture.
Meanwhile Ms Masiye has called on parents and Churches to teach children the importance of the Zambian culture from the onset so that they grow up into responsible citizens.
The YWCA president has also called on other Non-Governmental Organizations that have a passion for youths and the development of the country to empower more youths for a better Zambia.
