The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a Human Resource Manager at Auto World Zambia Limited for alleged corrupt practices involving K1, 000.
ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono, says Burton Banda,37, of house number 4/58 new Chawama in Lusaka, has been charged with one count of corrupt practices by private persons contrary to Section 20 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act number 3 of 2012.
In a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Mr Moono disclosed that details of the offence are that Mr Banda corruptly solicited for and allegedly received K1, 000 cash gratification.
He narrated that the money was taken from a named former employee of Auto World Zambia Limited as an inducement or reward for Mr Banda to write a recommendation letter for the named former employee to North Western Water and Sewerage limited.
Mr Moono said the suspect has since been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
