—-The Tag of War Association of Zambia (TWAZ) has failed to parade a team at the World Championship that kicked off today in the United States of America (USA) due to lack of funds.
TWAZ president, Amos Musonda, said in interview with ZANIS that it is unfortunate that Zambia has not been represented at the prestigious championship due to inadequate sponsorship.
Musonda said his association is still struggling to sustain the sport as it has received little recognition from stakeholders
Mr Musonda said participating in the world event would have exposed the Zambian team and sharpened the skill.
The world championship, which kicked off today in America, will come to an end on August, 31.
He said hope has since been fixed on the Coach Training Course that is expected to be conducted at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) in Lusaka from October 13 to 17, 2014.
Musonda said the training course is aimed at equipping Zambian coaches from private and government schools on the technical skills of the sport.
The TWAZ president said over 120 coaches are expected to be trained during the course.
Musonda said over K90 000 is needed for the training course to be in fruitful and he has since appealed for sponsorship in order to make the event a success.
