Two year old girl burnt to death in Nchelenge
Nchelenge, August 27, ZANIS— A two year old girl has died in Nchelenge District in Luapula province while her four year old brother escaped unhurt after the grass thatched house they were sleeping in caught fire.
The girl met her fate when the two were left in the house sleeping while their parents identified as Jaineki Mwape 26 and Hilda Chola 23 both of Kaputa Village in Chief Mununga’s Chiefdom went to the fields leaving a burning brazier in the house.
Disclosing the incidence to, Luapula Province Police Commissioner Malcolm Mulenga confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Mansa.
Mr Mulenga said the four year old boy managed to escape leaving the girl behind and was eventually burnt beyond recognition and has since been buried.
In another development, Police in Kaputa district have arrested a man for axing his wife on the buttocks.
Warren Simwinga 36 of Chandwe Village in Chief Nsama’s Chiefdom is alleged to have axed his wife Stefania Ng’onga of the same village on the buttocks after a domestic dispute.
Mr Mulenga said Ng’onga is admitted at Kaputa District Hospital and her condition is stable.
