A member of the Bemba royal family has accused government of not upholding the importance of some traditional sites in the Bemba land.
Sebastian Mukulubwe cited a place which is used during a Bemba tradition ceremony popularly known as “Ukusefya Pan’gwena” as one which has allegedly been neglected by government.
Mr. Mukulubwe, who is also a caretaker of the said site, noted that in other regions, such places have been developed.
He also bemoaned the bad road network leading to the area and lack of electricity among others.
Mr. Mukulubwe has since expressed confidence that government will address the matter.
He said this when PF Malole Member of Parliament Christopher Yaluma visited the area over the weekend.
But, PF Malole Member of Parliament Christopher Yaluma disclosed that plans are underway to construct a tarred road to Ukusefya Pan’gwena site.
Mr. Yaluma who is also Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister added that there is need to construct permanent structures at the site.
