More Egyptian farmers coming
Lusaka, August 25th, ZANIS–The Egyptian government has pledged to increase its farm area in Mwembeshi for the cultivation of a variety of Egyptian crops.
This follows the visit by the Egyptian delegation in July which was impressed with the Egyptian crop production and Climate adaption in Zambia.
The delegation called for a crop diversification such as the growing of Egyptian maize, peaches, mango, wheat and livestock.
The delegation comprised officials from institute of technological research and cultivation and the Arab land.
ZANIS in Lusaka reports that this is according to a statement today by Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia Mr. Ragai Tawfik Nasr.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tawfik Nasr said Egypt Air whose initial flights from Cairo to Lusaka had stopped in January 2011, is expected to resume its flights soon.
Mr. Tawfik Nasr said the return of Egypt Air to Zambia will increase trade between the two countries and will also boost the tourism sector.
He disclosed that a delegation from Egypt is expected in the country to discuss the modalities of operations of the Airlines.
