Political Activist Dante Saunders has begun a countrywide holding of public discussion forums on the constitution following the elapsing of the 60 days ultimatum he gave in May this year in which he expected the civil society to succeed in the demand for the release of the final draft constitution.
Mr. Saunders says his holding of public forums does not however mean that he is now at loggerheads with the civil society or any groupings that have been advocating for the release of the final draft constitution and enactment? of the new constitution before 2016.
Mr. Saunders has told Qfm news in an interview that the idea behind his constitution discussion forums is for him to gather information on what people think should be done next in view of the alleged delay by the Patriotic Front (PF) government to enact a new constitution.
He says this is especially that he is personally convinced that a new people driven constitution will not be realized under the PF government.
The Political activist says he is of the view that time has now come to show the ruling PF that it was voted it in power by the people and that it is the same people that will vote it out of power if it does not listen to them.
He says he thinks that the ruling PF should further realize that it was put in power to govern the country and not to rule it.
And Mr. Saunders has noted that people who will be attending his forums will be doing it on their own free will.
