Ambassador Yang Youming Visits ZANIS

On August 6th, H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, new Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, visited Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) and met with Mr. Patrick Lungu, Director of ZANIS.

Mr. Lungu extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Yang and briefed the latter on the history, functions and operation of ZANIS. He expressed his appreciation for the long term support to ZANIS from the Chinese side, including offering a ZANIS reporter 1-year-long media training program through “China-Africa Press Exchange Center” in Beijing, and hoped to see a continuous cooperation between the two sides in the improvement of hardware, capacity building, etc. in a bid to learn China’s advanced experience and practice. Ambassador Yang thanked Mr. Lungu for his hospitality and introduction. Praising ZANIS for its long history and important mission, Ambassador Yang said the Chinese side is ready, while maintaining the good relations with ZANIS, to continue to expand and enrich the cooperation. He expressed his hope that ZANIS will continue to provide positive coverage of China-Zambia relations, and in particular activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zambia this year.
