—–Luanshya District Commissioner, Harold Mbaulu, has thanked President Michael for appointing him to his position, saying the gesture has given him an opportunity to appreciate the needs of various communities.
Speaking in Luashya when he donated an LCD television set and a deep freezer, both valued at K10, 000 to Dagama Special School, Mr Mbaulu said his position has given him chance to interact with various sectors of society including the school.
He noted that Dagama School was one area which he felt needed support as the school was complementing government’s efforts in offering education to the physically challenged children who would not fit into ordinary schools.
Mr Mbaulu explained that he discovered the plight of the children at the school when he visited the institution last year and was moved to make a pledge of K10, 000 which he had now fulfilled by providing the two items which were of urgent need to the school.
And receiving the donation, school head teacher, Sister Christine Chupi, thanked the DC for the gesture, saying the two items would assist the school in its daily operations.
Sr Chupi further thanked Mr Mbaulu for taking keen interest in uplifting the living standards of children at the school.
And a grade 7 pupil, Mercy Chola, said the TV was already connected to Digital satellite TV and installed with education software which was being used for learning purposes by the learners.
