RATSA cashier arrested for K27,000 theft
Solwezi, August 5, 2014, ZANIS………….Police in Solwezi have detained a cashier at the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RATSA) in connection with the alleged theft of more than K27,000.00 .
ZANIS reports that the money was allegedly stolen from the RTSA office in Solwezi.
Northwestern province deputy commissioner of police Michael Nkanka confirmed that police are holding Michael Mwamba, 32, a cashier at RTSA to help with investigations into the stolen money.
Mr Nkanka said K27,680.00 cash was stolen from RTSA revenue office in Solwezi by unknown people .
He said a RTSA officer, Ronald Mulenga , reported the matter on behalf of the Agency to police and that the money must have been stolen between August 1 and August 2 , 2014.
Mr Nkaka said police visited the scene of the alleged theft and found that there was no sign of any kind of break- in as the doors to the office were intact.
He said police are holding the RATSA cashier Michael Mwamba to help with investigations.
