Sinyangwe to appoint task force

Choma, July 28, 2014, ZANIS – NEW permanent secretary for Southern Province, Anne Sinyangwe, has called for the immediate constitution of a task force that will help supervise ongoing construction works on the new provincial administration headquarters in Choma.

Speaking at an introductory meeting with provincial heads of government departments in Choma today, Ms Sinyangwe says a task force needs to be in place as soon as possible because of the urgent need to ensure effective supervision of ongoing works.

She says the task force will ensure that the contractors engaged by government in the construction of the new six storey provincial administration headquarters as well as staff housing units work according to schedule.

Ms Sinyangwe says because Government is in a hurry to deliver development to the people of southern province, there is need to ensure that necessary infrastructure to support implementation of government programmes and policies is in place.

She has called for a change of attitude among departmental heads towards work saying team work and hard work is imperative in the effective delivery of government services to the people.

The PS has also encouraged departmental heads to work towards prioritizing issues for the 2016 budgeting process which would soon get underway.

The Permanent Secretary replaces Ms Margaret Miyoba who has moved to Cabinet office in Lusaka in the same capacity .

And in a vote of thanks, provincial medical officer Jelita Chinyonga assured the new permanent secretary of maximum support from provincial departmental heads.
