Four arrested for cattle theft
Kalabo, July 28, 2014, ZANIS………….Police in Kalabo district have arrested and charged two Nalionwa high school teachers, a grade twelve pupil and a hospital security guard for theft of over 20 herds of cattle.
And the Kalabo district hospital security guard is nursing serious wounds which he allegedly sustained in the process of running away with the stolen animals.
Both Kalabo District Commissioner Masela Chinyama and Police officer in-charge Kim Masambo confirmed the development to ZANIS in Kalabo today.
The named teachers are from Nalionwa High School while the pupil is in grade 12 at Kalabo High School.
It is alleged that the four accused persons were involved in stealing over 20 herds of cattle from Sihole area of Kalabo district.
The four were allegedly using a grave yard to slaughter the animals which were later sold at a named butchery within Kalabo.
Police are still investigating the matter while the four remain in police custody waiting to appear in court soon.
Recently, 350 herds of cattle were stolen from Ngu’ma area and residents accused police of not paying attention to the matter.
