Chiefs urged to help protect infrastructure
Chinsali, July 24, 2014, ZANIS…Traditional leaders in Muchinga Province has been called upon to ensure that the infrastructure being put up by the government in their localities is protected.
The call was made by Road Development Agency (RDA) Regional Manager Samuel Twasa in an interview with Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today.
Mr Twasa said Government through the RDA is spending huge sums of money to construct bridges and roads therefore it was prudent that people protected the structures.
He said if the infrastructure is utilized properly, it will prolong the life span of the facilities and promote development.
He said it was the desire of the Government to connect all the parts of the country and create a good road network hence the Pave Zambia 2000 and Link Zambia 8000 projects which are currently under way.
He said it is the duty of every Zambian to secure the infrastructure for development to flourish and get involved at all stages of implementation .
Mr Twisa however thanked the Chiefs and Parliamentarians in the province for their continued support during and after the construction of the road projects.
