Man, 21, murdered in Kabompo
Kabompo, July 9, 2014, ZANIS—A 21 year old man of INDECO compound in Kabompo district was murdered by unknown people over the Heroes and Unity long week-end.
Both North-western province Commissioner of Police Eugene Sibote and Kabompo district Officer-In-Charge Edgar Nkowani confirmed the incident in an interview with Zambia News and Information Services in Kabompo today.
Police have identified the deceased as Seko Kaonga whose body was found between the Post Office and hospital compound in the early hours of Saturday, July 5.
Mr Nkowani said Kaonga is suspected to have died of excessive bleeding as his body was found with a deep cut on the forehead.
Meanwhile, Mr Nkowani said police are holding Ackim Banda, 20, of Hospital compound in Kabompo who was at the time of the incident keeping up with the deceased to help with investigations as the body was found only about 20 meters away from the house they were sharing.
Meanwhile, Police have confirmed that Kaonga was buried in Kabompo yesterday.
