Police in Kasama have issued a medical report to a 24-year-old remandee at Milima State Prison who was allegedly sodomised by a 27-year-old convict serving a three year jail sentence with hard labour for theft.
Northern Province Police Commissioner, Charity Katanga, confirmed the development to ZANIS, saying Humphrey Moonde, a remandee facing a case of theft, had carnal knowledge against the order of nature on June 23, 2014 with John Mukupa during the night.
This came to light when Moonde complained to the court that he was unwell during the commencement of his trial.
Police have since issued him with a medical report so that a docket can be opened against the convict who was to finish his jail sentence on October 4, this year.
