—Mtendere Ward Councillor in Munali Constituency, Benjamin Chanda, has boasted that the Patriotic Front (PF) Government has done a lot in infrastructural development in Mtendere Township in Lusaka.
Mr Chanda said most ring roads in the ward and township at large have been raised to bituminous standards which has cheered the local people.
He noted that the water reticulation in Mtendere has also improved compared to olden days when the township used to go for weeks without the commodity.
The councillor stated that the water reticulation system has tremendously improved even in schools, a thing he said was wonderful.
He was speaking to the Zambia News and Information Services in Lusaka today.
Mr Chanda stated that currently, there are various construction works on road pavements in sections A and B, drainage construction as well as cleaning of the township was going on in the area.
The civic leader noted that all these developmental programmes are happening just because of the able leadership of President Michael Sata and the PFgovernment.
He further stated that using Constituency Development Funds, he has managed to fence Mtendere Library to 95 per cent level.
Mr Chanda also noted the plans are under way for the extension of electricity to Mtendere East as well as buying of two generator sets for Mtendere clinic.
He lamented that a feasibility study is underway by the Zambia National Service (ZNS) to construct a permanent structure across Kaliliki River.
He also said his office was lobbying for the construction of 1 by 3 classroom blocks at Mahati Maghandi School from Mtendere Pick and Pay Shopping mall.
“Support the leadership of the current government. It is working for the benefit of the Zambian People,” Mr Chanda said.
Mr Chanda also urged the people of Mtendere and the country at large to support the leadership of President Sata for more development in the nation.
