—-The Mporokoso District Child Justice Forum
is concerned with the high number of girls dropping out of school in
the area.
Mporokoso District Child Justice Forum Secretary, Sambala Kashimba, bemoaned the escalating number of teenage girls falling prey to pregnancies and early marriages.
Mr Kashimba cited Sambala Primary School where three girls between the ages of 14 and 16 recently dropped out of school after falling pregnant.
He reminded that government attaches great importance to girl child education hence the need for girls not to engage in activities that would ruin their lives.
He warned that the law will not take kindly to parents marrying off their girl children at a tender age.
Mr Kashimba also appealed to girls to report to relevant authorities parents intending to marry them off before completing their education.
