Government says there is need for public service workers in the country to coordinate and harmonize government’s efforts in improving infrastructure and service delivery for development in all sectors of the economy.
Western Province Minister Richwell Siamunene explained that it was importance for workers to coordinate service delivery in order to have effective and improved services in all sectors such as health, education, and agriculture.
Mr Siamunene said the strides made through the provision of specialized equipment in sectors such as health and education through the construction of schools and health institutions in the province is a clear testimony improved service delivery being undertaken by government.
The Minister noted that as the major employer in the country with 160, 000 employees, government has managed to enhance food security through improved agricultural support services and social cash transfer with more than 31,000 beneficiaries.
This year’s Africa Public Service Day which was celebrated under the theme: “Celebrating Fifty years of God’s Favour: A public service anchored on continuous improvement in service delivery for sustainable development and wellbeing of the people of Zambia".
