CHIPOLOPOLO coach Patrice Beaumelle has said the competitiveness of the MTN-FAZ Premier League will help boost the strength of the national team ahead of the Morocco 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Beaumelle said this at the weekend after watching the double-header MTN-FAZ Premier Division League Week 14 fixtures involving National Assembly and Napsa Stars as well as the Green Buffaloes clash against Kabwe Warriors. He said the domestic league was important for the Chipolopolo team’s future prospects and that the quality of players in the league would give him a wide range of choice when naming the national team. “I would like to thank the clubs for their good job in ensuring that there is competition in the league. They are doing their part in helping to shape up the Chipolopolo. “It is good to see young players rise to the occasion and most of them have been featuring for their clubs regularly and this shows that there is a lot of talent in the league,” he said. Beaumelle said the first half of the 2014 soccer season has been explosive with teams determined to fight for the title. He said the fact that the top three teams in the league were only separated by three points after Week 14 games was a clear indication of how competitive the season had been so far.
