TWO Chinese yesterday appeared in the Lusaka magistrate’s court for abducting a 29-year-old woman.
Li Qui Zhang, 34, and Wang Shun Quing, 51 of house numbers 12746/M Lilayi Road and 12746 M Lilayi Old Airport are facing one count of wrongful confinement.
It is alleged that on May 7, 2014 in Lusaka, Li and Wang confined Christy Sheer against her will.
The matter was allocated to resident magistrate Irene Wushimanga where the two were expected to take plea.
Meanwhile, the Lusaka High Court has adjourned to July 18, 2014 the hearing of the matter in which Chisamba Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Muteteka has appealed against his five-year jail term for theft of a constituency motor vehicle.
Muteteka, 43, was jailed for allegedly stealing a Mitsubishi Fuso light truck valued at K75, 000, the property of Chibombo District Council in Chisamba Constituency.
Lusaka principal magistrate Aridah Chuulu found him guilty of the offence and slapped him with a five-year jail sentence which Muteteka appealed against. He contended that Ms Chuulu erred in law and fact.
When the matter came up for hearing before Judge Rhodah Mung’ombe yesterday, the matter failed to take off because the State was not ready.
Ms justice Mung’omba adjourned the case to July 18, 2014.
In another development, an Angolan has appeared in a Lusaka magistrate court for obtaining credit by false pretences.

Rodriquez is in the second count alleged to have incurred a further K2, 000 debt from Marian Mwiinga.
