Lusaka, June 19, 2014, ZANIS —- A consultant in the Transport sector Joseph Muchimbu has praised government for its plans to create a Lusaka to Kapiri Mposhi dual carriage way.
Mr Muchimbu says The announcement by the Road Development Agency (RDA) to construct the dual carriage way is a move in the right direction.
ZANIS reports that the Consultant said this in an interview in Lusaka today adding that the move should be embraced by all the right thinking Zambians.
He however, advised government not to over borrow for the projects as it might make the nation to fall into another what he said a debt trap.
He stated that the idea is long overdue as it is going to reduce fatal accidents which has been happening in this nation.
He noted that the road sector in the country is vital for economic prosperity of the country.
Government is currently doing a lot of road infrastructure across the country as well as creating the first ever Kitwe-Chingola dual carriage way currently going on in the rich Copperbelt mineral rich province of Zambia.
Zambia has only one dual carriage way from Ndola -Kitwe which was created during the Kaunda regime soon after the nation attained its independence in 1964.
Recently the road development Agency announced that government intends to construct a dual carriage way from Lusaka- to Kapiri Mposhi and that consultants are being considered for the same project.
