Lusaka’s Chipata compound Ward Councillor Joseph Tamba has commended the Zambia Police Service for combating crime in the area.
Mr Tamba said crime levels have reduced in the area since the rehabilitation works of Chipata Police Post commenced.
He expressed optimism on the fight against misconduct and criminality as the police have tightened security in the area.
Mr. Tamba said this in a telephone interview with ZANIS in Lusaka, on June 15th.
The rehabilitation works which started in 2013 at the over two hundred and forty eight thousand kwacha project are likely to be concluded late this year.
The works has increased the number of cells to two unlike before for both male and female suspects.
Male and female police officers used to share a toilet but separate ablution rooms have since been constructed.
