A PRISON warder at Chipata Central Prison has accidentally shot and wounded a prisoner while trying to recapture another who had escaped from custody.
Zambia Prisons Service Eastern Province regional commander Paul Mwaziba said in an interview last Friday that an inmate trustee identified as Davie Lungu was accidentally shot in the stomach when he led prison warders to the hideout of Harrison Banda of Katete, a convict who had escaped from Chipata Central Prison.
