Nalolo District holds its first Agricultural and Commercial Show
Nalolo, 16thJune, 2014, ZANIS — Government has called on farmers in Nalolo District to take farming as a business venture .
Nalolo District Commissioner Mundia Samwene says farmers in the area should change their mentality of producing for home consumption to generating income cash crop production as the District is expanding.
Mr. Samwene said this the District Agricultural and Commercial, in Nalolo District, today.
He also urged farmers to exercise Agricultural diversification in crops, livestock and fisheries and use appropriate Agriculture practices for good yields.
And Nalolo District Agricultural Show Society Chairperson Mukololo Simasiku called on farmers to exchange notes and learn from each other.
Mr. Simasiku also emphasized on the importance of adopting new farming methods and practicing new innovations so as to move in run with this year’s Agricultural and Commercial show theme, ‘Breaking new Ground’.
Speaking at the same occasion, an exhibitor Mwendabai Aongola from Liondo Village urged his fellow farmers to practice conservation farming which he described as cheap and time consuming.
Nalolo District held its first ever Agricultural and Commercial Show in Muoyo Royal Village over the weekend where exhibitors came as far as Liliachi the central part of Nalolo District.
