Government says the process of revising the Policy and the Legal framework of the tourism sector have reached an advanced stage.
Tourism and Arts Deputy Minister, Lawrence Evans, disclosed that once completed, the policy and the legal framework will enable key players to become more responsive to the ever changing trends in the tourism sector.
Mr Evans said government is committed to providing a conducive policy and regulatory framework aimed at promoting private sector investment in the tourism industry.
He said the already existing infrastructural development in the tourism industry is a clear testimony of government resolve of creating an enabling policy and investment in the sector.
ZANIS Reports that the Deputy Minister said this in Lusaka today at the official opening of the new Protea Hotel Lusaka Tower at Arcades Mall.
And Mr Evans commended Protea Hotel for its significant investment in the hospitality industry and for the expansion it is undertaking in all parts of the country.
He said the new Protea Hotel Lusaka Tower will no doubt cushion the limited bed space which has continued to be one of the challenges affecting the growth of the hospitality industry in Zambia.
