Banda elected as PALU president

State counsel Elijah Chola Banda has been elected as the new president of the Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU).

 

And the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president George Chisanga has congratulated Mr. Banda for his election as the new PALU president.

 

Mr. Banda was elected as PALU president at the PALU triennial General Assembly and Conference held in the Cameroonian capital Yaounde from the 5th to the 7th of June 2014.

 

PALU is a continental body of lawyers which seeks to bring under one umbrella all Lawyers and Lawyers associations in Africa of which LAZ is part of.

 

And outgoing PALU president Akere Tandeng Muna of Cameroon has expressed his unwavering support to Mr. Banda who by the time of his election was his deputy.

 

Mr. Muna said he is confident that under Mr. Banda whom he worked with for three years, PALU is in capable and energetic hands.

 

Meanwhile, the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president George Chisanga has congratulated Mr. banda on the occasion of his election as PALU president.

 

In a statement issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Mr Chisanga said Mr Banda’s election is truly deserving considering his vast academic, professional credentials and the practical experience he posses.

 

Mr. Chisanga said he has no doubt that Mr Banda’s deserved personal achievement is an inspiration to many qualified lawyers in the country.
