Vice President Guy Scott arrived in Livingstone where he will officiate at the heads of mission conference.
Dr Scott who turned 70 years June 1st was accompanied by his wife Charlotte, Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba and other senior government officials.
The Vice President was met on arrival at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport by Southern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe, his permanent secretary Margaret Miyoba, Tourism and Arts deputy minister Lawrence Evans, senior government officials and Patriotic Front party officials.
Dr. Scott is expected to officially open the heads of mission conference at Livingstone’s Protea Hotel on June 2nd
The meeting has drawn Zambia’s High Commissioners and Ambassadors accredited to foreign missions abroad.
And welcoming the Vice President, Mr. Munkombwe praised Dr. Scott for being a dedicated son of the country.
He further warned the United Party for National Development (UPND), Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD), and other opposition political parties to
desist from thriving on President Michael Sata’s health.
Mr Munkombwe also stressed that the PF government will not throw away any part of the new republican constitution.
He said government will not tolerate elements set on promoting anarchy in the country.
