Vice President Dr. Guy Scott says a major audit of the Konkola Copper Mines – KCM is underway.
Dr. Scott says officers from the Zambia Revenue Authority are on the ground to get every detail about the tax compliance of the mining giant.
Dr Scott said this in Lusaka.
Konkola Copper Mines majority shareholders, Vandeta Resources chairman, Anil Agarwal recently mocked Zambia for cheaply selling-off the mine which he said is now giving him millions of dollars in profits.
However, in contradiction to the boastful remarks of the owner, KCM is very reluctant to pay taxes to the Zambian government claiming that its makes loses.
This is what happens when you have corrupt officers in charge.so many loop holes
