The Grand Coalition for the people driven constitution has launched a strategy aimed at having the final constitution released to the Zambian people, which involves honking every Friday
Speaking during the launch today, Fr Leonard Chiti explains that the devised strategy include honking every Friday, continued mobilization of masses and wearing of green ribbon until the final document is released.

He adds that the coalition will also use national events to demand for the release of the constitution among others.

Father Chiti says the coalition will not relent in its quest to have the final document released.

But when contacted for a comment on the strategy devised by the grand coalition to push for the release of the draft constitution, Chief Government Spokesperson Joseph Katema said government is not moved by the devised strategy as long it is within the confines of the law.

Dr Katema says the Grand Coalition should know that Zambia is a democratic country and every person has the right to express their grievances without infringing on other people’s rights.

Those in attendance at the briefing included opposition leaders among National Restoration party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo, United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema, Alliance for Better Zambia president Father Frank Bwalya and representatives from churches.
