Sixteen opposition political party leaders that include Mr. Hichilema and Dr. Mumba are currently waiting to meet President Sata to discuss the issue of the constitution following the letter they wrote to him requesting to meet him.
But Mr. Saunders is of the view that such an interparty dialogue meeting may not be possible as President Sata allegedly fears and considers the two outspoken opposition leaders as threats.
He however notes that for a benefit of doubt he will wait to see whether President Sata can dialogue on same table with the two opposition leaders adding that should this interparty dialogue fail to take place opposition political parties should leave this responsibility of meeting the President to the Church.
Mr. Saunders says this is because the ultimate is to get a confirmation from President Sata himself on what his position is a regards the need for the country to have a new constitution.
He says it is from this point when the facts are known that all stakeholders pushing for the enactment of the country’s new constitution will know the right steps to take going forwards
