The department of education in Mungwi has officially launched its strategic plan for 2013-2017.
Speaking at the official launch of the document last week, Mungwi District Commissioner, Joyce Chanda, said the unveiling of the document by the department of education in the district had come at the right time when the PF government is in a harry to deliver social services to the Zambian people.
Mrs Chanda said she was happy that the development of the strategic plan for the department of education in Mungwi went through a consultative process involving various key stakeholders in the district.
The DC has since called on other line ministries in the district to ensure they consult exhaustively when coming up with any planning document so that they do not leave out important issues in their plans.
Mrs Chanda said the importance of planning at any work environment could not be over-emphasised, adding that planning was a vehicle through which objectives and activities could be delivered and realised.
And speaking at the same function Provincial Education Officer, Nero Mwanapabu, said the strategic plan for the ministry of education in Mungwi contains overarching strategies such as ensuring that all members of staff in the ministry perform to meet the desired goals.
Mr Mwanapabu said his department was determined to redress the impediments in the delivery of education such as poor reading, absenteeism and inadequate information on special needs.
The PEO also said the overall objective of the strategic plan was to enhance learner performance at all levels of education delivery.
The launch of the strategic plan was attended by heads of government departments and teachers from various schools.
The Bob Theatre Cultural Ensemble spiced up the event with various pieces of entertainment.
