A senior government official has called on investors dealing in petroleum products in the country to consider investing in Isoka district.
Isoka District Commissioner, Joe Siwila, told ZANIS in an interview in Isoka May 14th that the district needs a fuel pump station.
Major Siwila said several residents have asked his office when the district was going to have a fuel service station.
He said lack of a filling station was affecting development operations such as those contractors who are involved in road construction and individual car owners.
And one of the taxi operators, Mwisa Katontaka, said the use of contaminated fuel has resulted in damaging their cars.
Katotonka observed that fuel bought from illegal fuel dealers was even more expensive.
Meanwhile a ZANIS survey carried out in the early hours of May 14th revealed that hackers are draining fuel from trucks for re-sale in town.
Several truck drivers were captured selling the fuel along the Great North road.
The nearest filling station is 100 km in Nakonde and 110 in Chinsali.
