One person died on the spot while four others sustained serious injuries after a fatal road accident in Kasama district, over the weekend.
The accident took place along the Golf Course Road on Sunday night when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and ended up hitting a rock.

But eyewitnesses at the scene confirmed the incident to ZANIS in an interview in Kasama today.
They said the driver of the Toyota Collora registration number ALR 9024 was allegedly over-speeding at the time of the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Kasongo Chanda, 20, a second year student at Kasama College of Education.
The witness charged that the five are believed to have come from a drinking spree when they met their fate.
He said the four include three girls and a man who is nursing serious inquires in Kasama General Hospital.
The body of the deceased is lying in Kasama General Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
