Incarcerated musician CLIFFORD DIMBA commonly known as GENERAL KANENE has appealed to the Supreme Court against his 18 year sentence. Last the Lusaka High Court slapped an 18 year jail sentence with hard labour on KANENE for defiling a minor. KANENE has appealed against his conviction, sentence and order of the subordinate court’s conviction. The incarcerated musician says the trial magistrate who convicted and committed him to the High Court for sentencing erred in law and fact. KANENE argues that he was convicted and later on confirmed the offence of defilement on the ground that there was a lacuna of evidence in terms of lack of birth record of the girl.

  2. Yeah if there is no valid document of the girl, then i dnt see the need of jailing him.Parents of the girl should show the docs coz it wont be fair serious, its what we call injustice. How can one say i shot a person when you havent in the actual sense he/she doesnt have any proof of me having a gun.I know its wrong to defile so the procedure should be in a protocal manner…
