Today marks the 21st anniversary of the Gabon tragic air disaster that claimed 18 players, 7 officials and 5 Zambia Air Force-ZAF crew on their way to fulfilling a US ’94 World Cup qualifying fixture in Dakar, Senegal.
And Football Association of Zambia-FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya says not a day goes by when he does not think of his former team mates.
Bwalya stated that the fallen heroes will never be forgotten, charging that the country should celebrate the contribution they made to the Chipolopolo of today.
Meanwhile, the families of the deceased made the annual pilgrimage to the Heroes Square at Independence Stadium with an echo of their long sought after call of demanding for the release of the report over what exactly transpired on that fateful night.
But, Government has remained uncompromising on releasing the report.
However, government’s naming of the Heroes Stadium after the deceased may have gone some measure in conciliating the grief.

Please, consider changing your heading. You cannot have “tragic disaster”? No wonder you were trying to name the Lusaka stadium as “Gabon National Heros Disaster Stadium”. Consult the dictionary on combination of words. A tragedy is as good as a disaster, i suppose.
