About Sanctuary Puku Ridge
Sanctuary Puku Ridge is named after the elusive Puku antelope which never strays far from water. It’s an intimate camp with just seven luxury oversized tents boasting en-suite facilities and inside and outside showers. This traditional safari camp is perched on an escarpment in a remote part of the South Luangwa National Park and offers walking safaris and game drives.
South Luangwa is one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, and not without reason. Set on a rocky ridge overlooking the Kakumbi dambo (valley), Puku Ridge Camp offers the ideal spot to revel in the abundance of wildlife whilst enjoying the tradition of an old-world safari camp. About Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma
Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is located on the banks of the Zambezi River, a short drive from the magnificent Victoria Falls. Activities included in a stay here are game drives in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a local village tour, a sundowner cruise on the river and a tour of Victoria Falls. The lodge has 12 tree houses and two spacious two bedroom private houses. Children 9 years and older are welcome at Sussi tree-houses whilst children of all ages are welcome at the Chuma Houses.
Sussi & Chuma lodge is named after David Livingstone’s faithful friends, Sussi and Chuma who carried his body all way back to England from where he died in Zambia. The lodge consists of 12 beautiful tree houses and two spacious two bedroom private houses, both of which take full advantage of their stunning river-bank setting.
Each of the 12 suites have a private viewing deck and boasts en-suite facilities with air-conditioning, overhead fans, mosquito nets and all the little luxuries you would expect from a lodge of this calibre. The two bedroom Chuma houses are perfect for private use, ideal for families or small groups they are privately staffed and each with a private swimming pool.
The main lodge building features a spectacular raised bar/lounge deck, open air dining area, curio shop, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water’s edge. Resident wildlife, such as hippopotamus and elephant, are likely to wander through the grounds at any time. Guests may enjoy a wide variety of activities – early morning river cruises, afternoon game drives, a tour of the Victoria Falls or perhaps a visit to a local village are certain to enthral.
About Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge
Once a private Presidential retreat, Chichele occupies one of the most breath-taking sites in the entire South Luangwa National Park. Since the original structures, built circa 1960, the building has been transformed in recent years to create a spectacular safari lodge, designed to complement its natural surroundings.
In order to exploit the wonderful floodplain vistas offered by the site, ten air-conditioned, elegant cottages are built along the edge of the hillside, each providing private panoramic views. Each suite offers en suite facilities and is well equipped with all the little extras you would expect of a lodge of this quality.
The property also boasts a relaxing swimming pool with views the adjacent valley. Game drives are conducted in open 4×4 vehicles, driven by qualified, professional guides. Night game drives using spotlights to enable guests to see nocturnal animals such as leopard and spotted hyena. Game walks are also very popular. Children of all ages welcome, children aged 5- 11 years old are only permitted on the game drives at the sole discretion of the lodge manager.
