ZESCO Western Province Regional Manager Boniface Syasyipa Manager says his utility firm was determined to provide power to Sioma District.
Mr. Syasyipa says ZESCO was geared to ensure that Sioma District is fully electrified to not only speed up development but to change lives in the area.
The Western Province Regional Manager said this in an interview with ZANIS , April 16.
He revealed that about 30 houses and businesses have been powered as part of the project to bring to Sioma District.
He added that the company expects the community in the areas to take advantage of the connection fee of K150 to connect their households.
And a local Business woman ANNIE MWANAWINA who has been connected has thanked the President Michael Sata and his Government for coming up with such an initiative as no past government brought electricity to the district.
Ms. Mwanawina said that connecting the area to the national grid will ease livelihoods and doing business in the area.
And teacher Mubita Pelekelo says with the coming of power their work will now be much easier as the can plan for their work anytime.
He says ZESCO should not just end here but should go to other places that are not near the pole lines.
