MMD National Youth Secretary Tobias Kafumukanche has called on Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani block the planned National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of opposition party.
Mr. Kafumukache says if the NEC meeting is given a go ahead there might be chaos as there is a petition process yet to be concluded.
He said it would not be conducive to hold the NEC meeting before the petition process of the removal of party president Dr. Never Mumba from office and holding of a national convention is concluded.
He said it was the Secretariat ‘s role to call for the NEC meeting after a consensus from all stakeholders and not the office of the party’s president.
Mr. Kafumukache said this during a press briefing at the Party secretariat in Lusaka today.
And a visibly annoyed Lusaka Province Chairman Watson Mtonga who stormed the secretariat after receiving a report that Kafumukache was holding a Press Briefing said it was not right for party officials to rush to the media when they have differences within the party.
Mr. Mutonga said
